Results focused road safety: setting and achieving project safety benefits

Projects on road safety or with road safety components are typically conceived with high ambitions for achieving outstanding results. All too often this ambition is progressively whittled away as the project progresses through its lifecycle. In this presentation I will discuss the common causes of this 'benefits loss' and indicate proven techniques for reversing the trend.

The presentation will discuss:

  1. How to apply Safe System thinking in project development
  2. How to reverse safety benefits loss in projects
  3. How a vision-based approach to road safety helps achievement of benefits
