Country Specific Virtual Workshop on Improving Road Safety Engineering in CAREC Countries (Turkmenistan)

CAREC Workshop

Between 12-28 April 2022, the CAREC Institute in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will deliver a six-module country-specific virtual workshop for Turkmenistan on Improving Road Safety Engineering. This is part of the ongoing efforts of the CAREC Institute and the CAREC Program in delivering country-specific road safety engineering capacity building workshops to every CAREC country.

The overall aim of this workshop is to update and upgrade the knowledge and skills of road safety professionals from government ministries, national highway authority, Committee of Roads, provincial road agencies, design institutes, national Traffic Police, universities, consultancies, and other relevant authorities on the key elements of the road safety engineering profession as detailed in the CAREC road safety engineering manuals. Through enhanced capacity, CAREC countries can effectively achieve strategic goals of keeping CAREC transport corridors safe, and the region safely connected in line with the CAREC Road Safety Strategy 2017-2030. Examples of best practices in road safety from the CAREC region and other parts of the world will be demonstrated throughout the sessions.

Although this is a country-specific workshop, targeting road safety professionals from Turkmenistan, all road safety professionals from the CAREC region and beyond are encouraged to participate through open registration.
